A little MauiFoodTrucks.com ‘ohana update

Welcome 2026 + MFT Update

Happy New Year!

I’m writing this on February 1st and, like everyone with family and a million moving parts, the holiday season absolutely flew by. It’s been busy, a little chaotic, and full of good family time.

And now that things are slowing down just enough to breathe, we can’t help but reflect on everything that happened in 2025.

Honestly… what a year.

It was a year of beginnings for MauiFoodTrucks.com.

We finalized the website design, took a leap and entered the Maui Pono Foundation + Project HOPE New Business Course & Competition, and somehow…

Won 1st place out of 60 applicants! Best new business in Maui.

I still can’t believe it.

But more than anything, it’s been the conversations that stick with me, every time I talk to someone about the site and they light up and say, “Wait, that’s such a good idea Maui needs this.”

That’s when I get chicken skin.

This isn’t just a fun passion project.
It’s a need that will help benefit our community.

We’re so grateful to be building a platform that connects people with local food, that makes Maui so special.

New Team Member Alert

And speaking of Special things… We have a little update in the MauiFoodTrucks.com team that I’m excited to share.

Please help me welcome Chloe Williams to the team!

Chloe Willieams, new MauiFoodTrucks.com team member

Even though she comes to us from the Big Island, she’s a Maui food truck lover through and through. Her day job brings her out to Maui pretty often, which is actually how we first connected. One conversation turned into another, and before we knew it, she was just as obsessed with this project as we are.

If you follow us on Instagram, you’ve probably already seen her in action posting like a champ, the nails on point, grinding the grindz, highlighting trucks, and letting the people know that this is the spot to find the best grinds on Maui.

Chloe shares the same values we care deeply about at MauiFoodTrucks.com:

  • Supporting local
  • Championing small businesses
  • Promoting sustainable practices
  • Farm-to-table living
  • Caring for the ʻāina

She and her husband live off-grid in Hilo, where they grow native hawaiian plants in their free time. Sweet potatoes, taro, sugar cane, bananas, lilikoi, ʻulu, ube. If it’s native they’re growing it. They like to collect rare plants as well, recently acquiring a 100 year old turmeric plant from a farm in Hana, Maui.

They have a rescue dog name Willow who they found on the side of the road injured. Now she’s enjoying the pampered dog life snuggling in all the blankets she can find.

Chloe genuinely walks the walk when it comes to sustainability and community, which makes her such a natural fit for what we’re building here.

Starting a business is a climb… and it’s a lot more fun to do it with a friend. We’re so stoked to have her with us as we grow.

Looking ahead

This year we’re doubling down on what matters most:

  • Supporting the trucks who supported us
  • Showing up for our small business community
  • Highlighting more local stories
  • Making it easier than ever to find the best grinds on island

And with this “year of the fire horse” energy (aka all of us juggling multiple jobs and long hours 😅), we’re feeling extra motivated to make MauiFoodTrucks.com more amazing than anyone can imagine

We’re so grateful for all the Aloha, encouragement, and support we’ve already received. It honestly means everything.

So keep coming back and follow as we become Maui’s new favorite website

Grind time 🤙🌮🌺
